Dance & Theater Fusion!

The Classes

Every class is a fusion of dancing and acting with a musical theater flavor. Students will learn how to combine dancing with pantomime and drama and to encounter God’s heart for them through these beautiful art forms.

Girls Classes

Mondays:

Level One - 3:30-4:30/ages 5-7

Level Two - 4:30-6:00/ages 8-10

Tuesdays:

Level Three-3:15-4:45/ages 11*

Level Four-4:45-6:30/Advanced*

Class Attire

Loose fitting t-shirt, leggings with shorts or a dance skirt over them, or sweat pants.
Dance slippers/or socks.
Hair neatly pulled back from face.
Ages 11 on up must wear a leotard or a tank top that will stay tucked in underneath a loose t-shirt.

Boy's Classes

Wednesdays:

Level 1-3:30-4:45 ( ages 7-9)

Level 2- 4:45-6:30 (ages 10-18)

Class Attire:

Loose fitting shirt and pants/NO JEANS or SHORTS
Sneakers/socks

Class Details

Students are required to arrive 5 min before their class begins.

If an unforeseen circumstance occurs and you are unable to arrive on time please send a text stating you will be late. If a student cannot consistently arrive at the correct time, they will not be able to participate in HKCS classes.

Students MUST bring a water bottle, no juice. Girls Levels 3 & 4 and Boys Level 2 need to bring Bible and notebook/journal as well.

Students are not able to use cell phones while class is in session. If there is an emergency, please contact Judith at (607-342-3996).

Students remain in level 3 until they pass assessment for advanced level.

Students with dialogue are required to memorize their lines throughout the week and be off script within a month of receiving the script. Not all students will have speaking parts.

Tuesday nights will be rehearsal nights for different leads in the shows, from 6:30-8. The Tuesday night rehearsal schedule will be emailed to parents whose students are cast as leads in the show. There is no extra cost for Tuesday night rehearsals.

Young adults who are interested in HKCS but are over the age of 18 are welcome to contact Judith to discuss the options of taking class with other students.
